Bring on the treats!

Andrew is Handy Manny this year for Halloween.

Disney might not agree with me, but I think he might actually be cuter than the really Manny.

He's not lovin' the hat.

It's like seeing double:

Manny see, Manny do.

brrr.....

It's been cold here this week--in the 30's when we leave the house in the morning. Andrew's ready though and this year he has decided that he likes hats.

Pumpkins!

While Andrew was taking a nap today, I carved two styrofoam pumpkins. I did a funny, white one and a Diego pumpkin for Andrew's room.

Andrew keeps running into his room to look at his pumpkin.

Blankie

Here's a new development:
Andrew with a blankie. He's never been very interested in blankets. He has 5 of them in his crib and he often ends up in a heap on top of them, but he does NOT like to have them on top of him and has never wanted to hold one or carry one around. Until today.

He was playing in my room and left for a minute. He came back with one of the blankets from his crib and was not completely happy until I had laid it out on the floor with NO wrinkles. A few minutes later, we left to go to the store and we were not allowed to leave without blankie. He even carried it around in the three stores we went into. Huh.

Carving pumpkins

We had some of our Guatemalan friends over today to carve pumpkins. We hung out in our community building and had a great time together.

Andrew's first time feeling pumpkin guts.

Dan and his mom, Mary, scooping out their pumpkins.

Grace wasn't too excited about the gooey stuff.

Dan lasted longer than any of the other kids at the carving tables.
At one point, all the kids were playing and the moms were still at the tables carving.

Don't they look great?

Andrew kept sticking his fingers in the mouths of the pumpkins,

and then licking his fingers. Yum!

We had a great lunch of mummy hotdogs, jell-o jigglers, apples with caramel dip, yummy cupcakes and chocolate milk to wash it all down. It was delicious.

We did some of this:

a little of this:

and a lot of this:

Everyone had fun today and I've been nominated to host the annual Halloween party. What have I done?

Hey Gramma!

Look at Andrew's favorite new toy! He carries him around everywhere and puts him in different spots in the house.

For those of you who aren't my mom, here's the story:
I'm VERY sentimental. The skeleton that Andrew is carrying is actually a candle and it was always out at Halloween when I was growing up. My mom wanted to throw it out one time but I 'rescued' it. I've had it ever since. She teases me every year about putting it out. I know it's ugly--I'm not an idiot---but it reminds me of my childhood. :)

oh, and usually when I ask him what the skeleton says, he says, "ooooooo". I swear, he really does. Usually. When the camera is put away and there are no witnesses.

Weigh-in

I walked into my bedroom to find Andrew weighing himself.

Why is he wearing a coat? Because we had just gotten home and being the almost-two-year-old that he is, he refused to take it off when I asked him to.

What does the elephant say?

One of Andrew's favorite animals is the elephant. He has been able to make an elephant sound for quite a while but I never got it on video before.

Puppy love

Andrew has recently rediscovered a stuffed dog that my friend Judy and her four beautiful daughters gave him shortly after he came home.

Poor Manny. I think he's been replaced as Andrew's dance partner.

Funny story

Andrew and I were at Trader Joe's the other day. There was a little girl there who was a b.r.a.t. (if that was your little girl, sorry, but I'm guessing that you already know this information). She was wheeling around her little shopping cart and screaming loudly for her mother. Andrew looked at me and then looked at her and said, "Shhh".

He is so cute when he says it....here he is showing you his cuteness.
