Kindergarten and Preschool

Andrew started Kindergarten today! Both boys are so excited to go back to school. Andrew can't wait to learn how to read and Daniel is anxious to get back to his toy kitchen. :)

I took about twelve pictures of them in this pose. This was the good one. In their defense, about eight people walked between us as I tried to take their picture.

Andrew was all business this morning. He was very excited to be starting kindergarten and was all smiles when I picked him up, but on his way into his new school, he was very serious.

Daniel had two open houses today. He will be attending the blended preschool in the mornings and a phono (speech) class two afternoons per week.

After school, we tried for a few more pictures to commemorate the day.
They were very smoochy today.

Andrew wanted to make a heart with his fingers. Daniel was not going to be left out of the cuteness.

This is one of my favorite pictures EVER of the boys. It says so much about their relationship--Andrew looking ahead while protectively holding onto his brother and Daniel not taking his eyes off of Andrew. I love how much they love each other.

Sketching in skivvies

I'm checking things off the summer to-do list. One of the projects I've wanted to do for a while is to make the back of our front door a magnetic chalkboard.  After 5 coats of magnetic primer and two coats of chalkboard paint, it is done (and barely magnetic).  The boys couldn't wait until they were able to draw on it. Andrew said he was going to make the whole solar system. Daniel wanted to draw a pool. They drew for over an hour while I got back to work on the to-do list.

The sandy 'pool'

We are in MI visiting friends who live on a lake. The boys are having a great time swimming and fishing! Daniel keeps calling the lake a 'pool'.

Practicing to be on 'Wipe-Out'

Trying to catch minnows.

Learning to fish!

A fish! Daniel caught two blue gills.

Andrew caught a wide-mouth bass!
