Remote Hog

I don't like this show. Let's watch something else.

I think I'll turn up the volume while I'm at it. I like it to be LOUD!

I'm much better now....

See?!?

Andrew is feeling a lot better. (except for throwing up his lunch everyday at daycare. Not sure what that's about, but the doctor isn't concerned.)

Sticking out his tongue is his new favorite trick. He also makes a sighing noise while he's doing it. And then he cracks up. And then I crack up.

He's been pretty animated since he's been feeling better. He gives me great hugs (without me having to beg), he babbles constantly, and he likes to copy things that I do. When I laugh, he laughs and then that makes me laugh even more.
I'm so grateful that he's feeling better.

(and yes, I know that the right side of his face looks like a rotten apple. I'm not beating him....I swear. He's been VERY active since he's been feeling better but doesn't have the balance to back up all the climbing that he would like to do. I have a feeling that bruises are just going to be a part of our lives for a while.)

A boy and his bear

Sick of being sick

co-pay at the doctor's office: $20.00

prescription of Augmentin: $49.95
Pedialyte: $ 3.99
Infant Ibuprofen: $ 2.99
Seeing my baby get well: Priceless

I haven't posted much this week. I wasn't being a bad blogger....I was being a busy mommy.
Andrew is sick again. He has a double ear infection, bronchialitis and possible pneumonia. Poor little guy was up coughing most of the night. He is sleeping now and hopefully the anti-biotics will help get rid of some of this. I'll post new pictures as soon as he is feeling better.

Peek-a-boo

Andrew has figured out how to play peek-a-boo. We play it a LOT now!
It cracks me up how his little eye crosses when he covers the other one up. He usually plays with both hands, but he had food in the other hand and he was NOT putting that down!

Big boys eat with a spoon

sort of...

P.S. Andrew got his hair cut yesterday. It's actually very cute, but it was under a hat for a couple of hours today and was all matted down in this video. It looks a lot shorter than it is.

Valentine's Day Presents

Here are some pictures of Andrew with his Valentine's Day presents. The truck is from me. The frog is from our friend Will and his mom, Pat. (Thanks!!) Andrew LOVES stuffed animals. You can see in the one picture he has two in his hand. Gramma and Grandad sent him a DVD that we haven't watched yet. (His TV attention span is limited to about 10 minutes right now.) He was really excited about the package when we picked it up in the lobby, though. He kept hitting it and wanting me to open it. He carried the DVD around for the next 1/2 hour. Guess he liked it!

The Dark Side

Many of you have commented on how Andrew is always happy and smiling. Not true. You've just only seen pictures of him happy and smiling. :) (He is extremely content and happy but he does have his moments.)
While he was sick, he was pretty pampered. I think he got a little too used to it. Since he's been feeling better, he has thrown some doozy tantrums. I got one on video today. He was mad because his Baby Einstein DVD was over. He obviously doesn't know what Mommy does for a living!

I also threw in some other pictures of a not-so-happy Andrew just so you don't think it's all smiles and giggles over here!

FFF

Andrew had his one year pictures taken last weekend. They turned out GREAT!! It was really hard to decide which ones to order. Here are a few of my favorites:

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I love Valentine's Day. Not for the "give me a present" part of it but for the chance to tell people that I think they're special. And there's all that red and pink and flowers and candy. What's not to like?
This year, though, I have a very special Valentine who I get to kiss and hug as much as I want to. :)

And apparently, he feels the same way:

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!

Chunky Monkey

While Andrew was in Guatemala, I gave his foster mom a bunch of disposable cameras (I think she thought I was nuts). I had all the pictures put on CDs but I hadn't printed them out until this weekend. While I was looking through them, I found these two funny pictures that show Andrew in his "chunky" stage.
I'm so thankful to his foster mom for taking so many great pictures. In the monthly pictures I got, they never showed that belly or those legs. They will be so nice for him to have when he is older.

Look at those legs and that belly!!!

Andrew Rocks

literally.

This is my rocking chair from when I was little. It was a gift from my grandparents but I think my dad had to finish it. (Is that right, mom?)
Andrew loves to sit in it. He's just starting to figure out how to make it move. Sneezing helps (as you'll see in the video. lol)

Fun with our new friends

We went to the local rec center with an adoption group today. We met lots of new friends who were adopted from several countries including the U.S. I had already met some of the parents and their kids, but it was last summer and Andrew wasn't home yet. They were excited to finally meet him.

We had a great time. The rec center has an indoor playground and Andrew was itching to be a big kid and get on the equipment. The floor was made from recycled tires and Andrew crawled everywhere! Afterward, we went out for pizza with three other single moms who have all adopted from Guatemala. We had a great time and we're looking forward to getting together with them again soon.

Doesn't this look FUN?

Catch me if you can, Mommy!!

Mary called this slide the "cellulite buster". I was tempted to go on it a few (hundred) times.

Just watching the big kids slide by.

FFF

Andrew has a leopard 'lovey' that he has fallen in love with over the past few weeks. Every time he sees it, he smiles and hugs it like he hasn't seen it in months. Here he is leaning against the computer desk spending some quality time with Lovey.

Flu, flu, go away

Sorry for the lack of pictures lately. Andrew seemed to be better and then he and I both got sick yesterday. I actually stayed home from school today. (those of you who know me, know that's BIG) We both feel better but we've had nothing but Pedialyte (Ginger ale for me) and crackers to eat. Andrew ate some brown rice pasta, applesauce and bananas for dinner. We'll see how that goes. :)

Even when he's sick, he's cute, so here are some pictures from the last couple of days.

He looks adorable here doesn't he? What you don't know is that he's going back there to unplug the light. He is looking at me because he knows he's not supposed to be back there.

This is a picture of my Grandpop Wilson when he was a little boy. He is one of the Charles' that Andrew was named after. For some reason, he loves this picture. He can reach the other one too, but he only grabs this one and then carries it around with him; which means sliding it along the floor while he scoots after it.

Chillin' on a snow day

Andrew definitely has the flu. I won't give you all the gory details on how I know....you'll just have to trust me. :) And anytime that he just sits, I know he's not feeling well. Here he is chillin' in the big chair.

This is his new favorite thing to do.....leeeaaaannnnn back and chill.

His other new favorite thing to do.

Doesn't he look like a big boy here?
