Monsters University Party

Daniel turns 6 this week and requested a Monsters University Party. I had a blast planning this and the kids had a great time during it.

I've been hoarding supplies for a few weeks and finally got to use them.

I was walking through Michael's one day and saw 6" googly eyes and decided I HAD to send out the invites on them. I created an invitation that was round; then cut them out and glued them to the back of the eye.  I love how they turned out.

 Birthday boy.

 Monster juice boxes.

Scream canisters of popcorn.

Andrew loves Brett.

Goofs.

 Silly string tag.

The eyeball on a spoon relay. Every party needs one.

We had a very special person at the party. This is Jenn. She lives in Haiti and worked at the care center when Wilson was first admitted. She has some good stories to tell about him. She was in town for the weekend and we got to hang out with her for a little while.

Shy birthday boy.

My ninja turtle-loving, peace-making, shy yet outspoken, funny, sweet, super-hero brother. I'm so glad I get to be his mom.

Picture Perfect

A couple of years ago, I had professional pictures taken of the boys. One of my favorites was this one of them walking hand-in-hand.

I took it down before Wilson came home but I still have it sitting in my bedroom while I decide what to do with it. It bothers Wilson. Every time he sees it, he asks why he wasn't in the picture. This weekend we went out to the same woods and same trail and reenacted the shot. He is pretty happy with the result.
