Liberty Bell

Today, we took the boys into the city to see the Liberty Bell. They love riding the train! They don't understand the Liberty Bell or what it stands for but I wanted them to see it because it's one of my favorite non-food things in Philly.

Waiting for the train with Grandad:

Ticket to ride!

Loving the ride:

Posing in front of Independence Hall (sort of).

Love this building!

The Bell!!

Isn't it pretty????

This is the best picture I got of them in front of the Liberty Bell. Sad, I know.

This was a lot more fun than standing in front of a boring bell.

After seeing the bell, we walked over to the visitor center. I love this piece of art--mostly because the top word looks like it says, 'Ethiopia'. :)

The boys made Liberty Bell pennies. This was their favorite part of the day, I think.

Cool penny.

The Phillies Fanatic was there! (ok...he's a statue but he's still really cool!)

This guy was real.

Grandma brought yummy raisins for a snack.

We could see William Penn from the visitors center. Did you know that 'Pennsylvania' means 'Penn's Woods'?  It's a really cool state. :)

On our way back to the train, we walked along the edge of Chinatown.

Philly pretzels. Yum!

Fun with Friends!

We got to hang out with some friends tonight who we don't get to see very often.  The kids were super excited about playing in the jumpy and willingly helped to open it.  That thing is HEAVY.

Waiting in line while the jumpy fills with air.

The highlight of Andrew's night was getting soda for the first time.

Beautiful.

Kisses from Jenni.

This picture is fuzzy and not very exciting but I am in love with the little boy in green. I got to meet him while I was in Ethiopia and am amazed by how much he has grown.  I couldn't stop staring at him. I think I might have scared him a little.

This little beauty just joined her family a month ago. She is ADORABLE!  I didn't get to hold her nearly as much as I would have liked to because she's still working on attachment with her mama. Once some time has gone by, though, she had better watch out---I will be squeezing her for sure. (and probably adding her to my list of children who are afraid of my stalkerish behavior.)

Teeth!

The first time that Andrew and Emilio ever met was when we were hanging out by the pool in Guatemala. They are still buddies. It's so fun to see them together and know that they have some history in their birth country.

Four, then five!

Daniel is four today! I won't write a big paragraph about how I can't believe he is already four and how the time goes way too fast and how I have no babies in my house anymore because everyone says that and it's boring. Even if it is true.

Instead, I'll show you some of the things my big boy, four year old likes to do.

Swing:

Eat ice cream with his brother:

Help mommy cook:

Ride his bike:

Drink gatorade right out of the bottle:

Ride a friend's scooter:

Play on mommy's phone:

Jump at the park:

Jump into the pool:

Rest, occasionally:

And every once in a while, smile when mommy asks him too.

Happy Birthday, Daniel Bereket. We love you!

Holy party, Batman!

Today, was Daniel's birthday party! He is 4!  But if you ask him how old he is, he will say, '4, then 5'.  He desperately wants to be as old as Andrew.
It was a gorgeous day and the kids had a wonderful time.
