Fingerprinting

This morning, we drove up to the north side of the city so I could be fingerprinted for DCFS. Andrew's brother will come home on a different visa than Andrew had. The state will not recognize him as an adopted child because I will not have visited him. I will need to adopt him here in Illinois. Until that happens, I am considered his foster-to-adopt mom and will therefore need to have a foster care license.
I will also have to be fingerprinted for immigration but don't have an appointment for that one yet.

I was discouraged last week by a few people who were making easy things difficult but I think I'm back on track now. I am so fortunate to have wonderful social workers this time who are a wealth of information.

  3. I'm glad you're back on track. I don't know why people make things so difficult ... they can't truly understand what it is we're trying to do, I guess. Anyway, it is SO exciting to hear the words "Andrew's brother"!!!!
