Halloween

This year was Daniel's first Halloween. He was a little hesitant at first but once he realized what was going in the bucket, he was all in.

Ready to trick-or-treat

A rare picture of the three of us:

Tate, Daniel, Ellie and Andrew

Daniel's very first house:

He already looks like a pro:

On his way to a fire?

Candy...yes!

He could barely carry his bucket but would not let anyone else touch it.

He looks sooo tired:

Preschool Party

We went to a Halloween party tonight at Andrew's school. The boys had a blast! They played games, danced, watched a magic (mostly comedy) show and begged for me to let them eat all their candy.

Daniel is very into hugging and kissing Andrew right now. He thinks it's hilarious.

Scary, fireman pirate.

Treats

Now that Andrew is in school, I get to make fun treats for his classmates and teachers. I had such a great time making things...knowing that he will love giving the gifts as much as the others will like getting them.

Caramel apples for his teachers:

Pumpkin play dough for his classmates:

The price of sanity

I paid my kids to go to sleep. I'd love to tell you that I'm not proud of this but I am. Really proud. Because it worked. Really worked.
I made little penny cans and gave them each 5 cents to go to bed. I told them that each time they got out of bed or did something that caused me to have to go into their room, I would take a penny out of their can. Andrew was so excited! He called out to me a few times and asked me to come talk to him. I told him that I would love to talk to him but I would have to take a penny. His response? "Never mind, mama."
My kids went to sleep on their own two nights in a row. For 10 cents. Money well spent.

Oh my

Sometimes, I'm not even sure what to say when Daniel eats. It's amazing and terrible all at the same time.

He no longer lets me put the taco insides into a bowl for him. He insists on using a shell.

Andrew insisted that I also take his picture (even though he may be the neatest eater under the age of 5 this side of the Mississippi).

Two goofs

We're getting in as much time at the park as we can before the weather gets cold. Daniel is becoming more comfortable climbing and playing and the boys are starting to enjoy playing together.

They also beg me to take their pictures and then do the goofiest things they can think of.

Scooter

The boys reeeally want a scooter. Anytime they can ride someone else's, they're in heaven. Since they don't have one at home, they took matters into their own hands.

Remember this sweet, little shopping cart?

Now it's a scooter!
