Charlie Bear

This is Charlie Bear.

Before I was even born, my grandfather won him at a fair for my grandmother. He had a place of honor on the bed in the spare bedroom at my grandmother's house. When we moved from Philly to MI, my grandmother gave him to me. He was always my favorite stuffed animal and even went to college with me.
I tried to give him to Andrew a couple of years ago but he was afraid of him. Afraid of a 50 year old, one-eyed bear that was as big as he was?  Chicken.

Yesterday, the boys were rummaging through the toy box where I keep things I don't want them to have yet...like games with small pieces and stuffed bears that will give them nightmares and cause them to wake me up from my much deserved sleep...when they found Charlie Bear. It was love at first sight for Daniel. He has not let go of him since and if you know anything about my children you know that this means there are now four of us in my bed at night.

First year of school....

check!

Andrew completed his first year of preschool this week ( only 18 more years of school to go!). His class put on a show to celebrate the end of the year. He's been singing the songs to us at home and knows every word and action. He even tries to teach them to Daniel.

Danny's Dream Team

We walked the Autism Walk today with some of our friends. We walked for Danny because we love his family and we want to help find a cure for Danny's autism. He even has a sister from Guatemala. :)

Everyone in yellow was from our group.

At the end of the walk was a PARTY...complete with tattoos:

and a petting zoo:

doing his chicken imitation:

Sara and Abel came down to meet us and we hung out at Soldier Field enjoying the party atmosphere after the walk.

When I am around this child, I can NOT stop taking his picture.

They had a band and the boys tried very hard not to dance but the rhythm got them.

Success!

New cast

Daniel got his cool, new hard cast today. It's buuuuuu (blue)...his favorite (only) color. He even showed the tech the color of blue on his shirt that he wanted.

In my defense, I didn't know he was getting a new cast so I didn't have my camera. I had to use my phone.
