It's just hair

There are a lot of terrible things going on in the world today and a bad haircut should not be my main focus right now but it is.  Daniel had his first 'real' haircut today and it was much more traumatic for me than it was for him. I was crystal clear in my desire for him to keep his long, beautiful curls. I only wanted it to be evened out so that we were no longer getting this look (although he can rock a tank top):

I even reminded her several times of my desire for his hair to stay long.  Apparently, she had her own ideas.

I should have taken him right then and made a run for it.

Oh. Look at those gorgeous curls...

Why is this picture blurry? Because my hands were shaking. That's why.

  1. Wow. Dude. That's really a change. It's a good thing he is totally adorable :)

Just kidding...it's not that bad. He's still the cutest kid in town :)

  2. I'm sorry!!! He's still adorable though. I remember how traumatized I was when Ruby got her haircut at daycare and I had to trim it more and it was not what I planned. Even though it's just hair, it still sucks.

  3. Why can't they just listen to what we want??? There is no haircut that would look bad on D, but I feel your pain. My nanny spent the first six months after Etta arrived snipping her hair behind my back because she thought long hair was too difficult to deal with on a baby.

Personally, I would nu-dred (is that what it's called?) D's hair. I think he'd look even more handsome (if possible) while it's growing back out.

  4. Oh Ruthanne-I would have been sobbing in the car on the way home. I've had Ezra's hair cut WAY too short so many times after we've been trying to grow it out...bummer!

He IS totally adorable, though. I think the nu-dred is a good idea, too.

  5. If his hair is anything like our Ruth's, it will be back in no time. Not that it looks bad short, but I know we have done the same thing with her, trying to make it even and then missed the curls. Just give it a few weeks and you will never know it was cut.
