Andrew has always been very afraid of the water. I think this was partly due to him not being allowed to put his head under water when he had the tubes in his ears but also because he's just one of those kids who's afraid of the water. Until today.
Jill and the kids came over and Jill coaxed him into jumping off the side while holding her hands. I tried to get him to jump to me without holding my hands and he told me, "You're no fun, mama!" After a few minutes, he decided to brave it and jumped to me. When I caught him he had a huge grin on his face and yelled, "You're fun! You're fun!" (I knew it all along.) After that, there was no stopping him. He went from not wanting to put his toes in to doggy paddling all the way across the pool without letting any of us touch him.
This morning when he woke up, he said, "Mama, I miss the pool. I not afraid anymore!"
I'm not going to lie. I bribed him with cookies.
Not to be outdone....
Look at Daniel. He does exactly what Andrew does:
Little stinker pushed him!
Hangin' with Harper:
There he goes...all by himself.
