Tickets!

I bought my tickets to Ethiopia today! I got a great deal (considering how expensive it is to sit in a cramped seat for 19 hours). I've never been on a plane for more than 4 hours at a time. I can't even wrap my head around how long this flight will be--my knees and joints ache every time I even think about it.
The HR guy at work told me the other day that there is no way he could be on a plane for that long. I told him I would much rather sit on a plane for 19 hours than to be in labor for that long. I hope I still feel that way when I am half way over the ocean.

  1. I was not in labor for 19 hours so I cannot say which one is better or worse but I can say that I think the flight was not as bad as I feared it would be. The flight was long but in the end it was taking me to my baby and that is all that mattered!! Congrats on getting your tickets. It is a wonderful feeling to know you are on your way.

  5. Oh Ruthanne I am so excited and so envious at the same time. What a joy to go get that little boy, he is a doll. I would rather fly on a plane for 19 hours than be in labor too! And I have done both :) Enjoy and I send you lots of love...

  13. Oh I'm SO SO SO excited for you!!!!! You are a..l...m..o...s...t there. I think our longest flight (of the several it took to get there) to Kaz was 14 hours. And you know I don't even really remember it, I just remember the excitement. You sleep and watch movies and eat. But mostly you know that you are on your way to bring your beautiful son home.
Again just thrilled for you and Andrew!!!!

  14. I'm new to your blog (and IAN) and am excited to follow your journey. I'm not going to sugarcoat anything for you - it's a TOUGH flight. But then again, I've never been in labor. I know you'll be bursting at the seams with excitement but try your best to get some sleep on the plane. Easier said than done...
