Ethiopians for Ethiopians

There is wonderful organization based in MN called 'Ethiopians for Ethiopians'. They teach adoptive families about Ethiopian culture and are bringing their program to Chicago. Tonight, they held an open house for any families who have adopted or are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia.

They had wonderful food, a short video about their program and a speaker who spoke about the importance of combining all the cultures in a family. Andrew had a great time running around and playing with the other children. At one point, he was chasing three beautiful little girls. As he came flying around our table, he looked up and said, "I running!". After the speakers, they served Ethiopian coffee and popcorn.

During the video, Andrew had a hard time settling down after all that running. We hung out in the back vestibule where he could play and I could still see the video. The meeting was held in a church basement and they had some candy machines that Andrew liked to investigate. I went over to get him out from behind the machines and saw this written on the top of one of the machines....it's the name I've chosen for my next son. There was no other writing anywhere on the machines or in the vestibule....just this name.

Yep...that's my son playing with a naked Barbie and a pink Barbie car.
