Andrew saw Santa today and he still loves him. And I mean loves with a capital L.
When we first got there, he stood to the side and scoped him out. Then he got a big grin on his face and could barely wait his turn. He gladly sat on his lap and didn't want to get down. He wasn't really interested in the gift he got-- just wanted more time with the big guy. At one point, he walked past him all nonchalant (giving him the sideways eyes the whole time) and pretended to look at the ornaments on the tree. Then he worked his way around the tree until he was back next to Santa. I had to pull him out of a few of the pictures with other kids.
Next year, I think I'll put him in an elf costume and he can just stand next to Santa the whole time. No one will be the wiser.
Checking him out before deciding if he liked him:
I like him!
For me?? Oh Santa, you shouldn't have. Just sitting on your lap is enough for me.
Look at the difference between last year and this year.
I know he's a little old for Mommy, but don't you think we make a good-looking family?
Books?? The big guy gave me books??
Trying to give the books back.
Pretending that he doesn't see Santa off to the side.
My plan worked! Santa shook my hand!
